Expensive but nothing special

Easily the best Peking Duck I have ever had. Tried a couple of famous places in Beijing but they were not as good. First time at Sha Tin 18 a few years ago with friends and was amazed at the quality of the Peking Duck. Had to make sure I came back for another round. Only 4 of us so we pre-ordered half a duck for 3 course. The chef cut the duck in front of us: first the skin, then the meat underneath that skin, then some other parts with skin and meat together.
They suggested eating the skin with a little sugar. This is why it’s called 片皮鴨(sliced skin duck). I have never had this elsewhere, not even Beijing. The skin melts in your mouth without feeling oily. The meat went with the usual wrap and sauce was tender and yummy.
It’s a 70 minute wait for the Peking Duck so it’s easier to pre-order when you reserve your table.
The other 2 courses were duck soup and san choy bau. We had to ask for the san choy bau as it came late. When it arrived, it was slightly burnt.
The other dishes we ordered were very nice. Needless to say, I will be back for more. It’s not cheap though, we spent HK$500 per person without alcohol.

The Tin Tin Bar is the feature hotel bar at Hyatt Regency Sha Tin. This is a good place for an evening round of drinks for those staying at the hotel. Opening hours are 5pm to midnight (Sun to Thurs) and 5pm to 1am (Fri & Sat).
The bar is darkly lit with red leather seating, high tables and a u shaped bar with stool seating. Drink list is a range of signature cocktails, wines, beer, spirits, tea and coffee drinks. They have bar snacks and you can order from the hotel Chinese restaurant called Sha Tin 18 as well.
During a recent visit, we enjoyed their Happy Hour (2 for 1) drinks between 5-8pm. Shiraz and Chardonnay wines were fine, as was the chicken wing bar snack order. Drinks are served with a small bowl of salted peanuts.
Service is friendly, a bit slow at bringing out drinks but otherwise just fine as well. There is live music each evening as well.
In the end, not a bar hotel bar especially during Happy Hour when drinks are more affordable.

The Environment is good, with wide tree view.
The Food is delicate and tasty but need to wait for a longgggggg time, especially we ordered the peking duck in advance but still took an hour more to service.
The desserts are tasty and creative, for example the Chinese beancurd cheesecake and Chinese alcohol chocolate ice cream. But some of them are weird, e.g. fermented red beancurd osmanthus jelly and cream brulee.
However, the service was not reached the hotel level, there were lack of staff for ordering and refilling water.
Overall, it wasn’t really worth visiting again, but can give a try.

Lovely atmosphere, great place for a chat
tried their promotion for in house guest. 50% off peking duck after 8:30 pm. I’ve been to this restaurant a few times before and everytime afterwards I would say never to come back to this place. I understand that this is a like a training hotel but training and no service is different. There is absolutely no service here and for the price level it’s a joke. Everything is quite expensive here. Even after 50% off I feel the peking duck is still so expensive given the price. Other outlets in this hotel offer better service and food. I have no idea how this place has good reviews given the absence of service and the low quality of the food. The only thing worth noting is just the ambience and spacing of the tables inside this restaurant. Don’t bother with this place. You will be thoroughly disappointed.

這間餐館都幾出名，環境優雅服務細心但上菜比較慢啲。價錢同環境都比較高級（貴）。食材新鮮，味道唔錯不會過份濃烈。都值得一試。 叉燒豬油撈飯，片皮鴨， 魚香茄子煲，中國酒味雪糕。

地方安靜不錯。食物0k，但要訂位。午市有260元的套餐。招呼0K，單尾的酥皮糖不甩幾正。
Thanks to KC for gifting us this Honey cake, again Shatin is not my turf but had a pop up shop at K11.
The cake was really nice, packaged nicely in a box which kept its freshness.
As for the cake, it was soft and you could smell the honey as well as taste it.

Booked this restaurant because of its location. During weekend, dinner duration was restricted to 2 hours only. The first round started 5.30pm. Service was OK but the food was far too expensive for what was offered in the plates. The roast duck came with three small dishes of skin and meat. Barely enough to be shared among a family of five. Additional charges applied for the lettuce wrap meat dish and soup. The sweet and sour pork was a bit fatty. The birthday lotus buns had a quarter of egg yolk as the filling. Not recommended for the cost charged.
Very high quality dim sum, but the Peking duck is the star of the show. Worth every dollar.

Superb service. Your cup of tea will never be empty. The duck meat was a bit dry. Skin was crispy and airy — you dip it in a little sugar and eat it neat. It’s little eating meat-flavored slices of butter. The rest you eat with the wrap, condiments, etc. Our dishes were equally well prepapred.
