A real south indian food tastes like home made.
Loved their Utthapam and Masala dosa. The prices are reasonable and affordable. Not charging extra in the name of heavy decoration. So, that’s good for the pocket.
說實話剛點完菜現在菜還沒來,這次是三個人來吃,但盤子跟杯子都分別要了一次才上齊,然後店家忘了給我們水,點完菜後也額外要了一次才來;為什麼冰水這麼重要呢?因為整間店的冷氣不知道是壞了還是怎麼樣,完全沒開的樣子,雖然店內大概在一半滿的狀況下,我旁邊的客人現在邊流汗邊搧風邊點餐,也因為店面本來是酒吧改建的,完全沒對外窗,所以沒有空調的結果就是整間店都是廚房的油煙味,目前還沒吃到菜就已經用餐體驗很差了,雖說是新開幕,但感覺連試營運都稱不上,非常需要改進,讓人還沒吃到餐點就想留評,而餐點的部分,因為還沒上就先不評價,希望是有實力的印度菜。
補吃完感想,把冷氣修好就可以了,有實力的料理,今天菜單:羊肉咖哩和菠菜乳酪咖哩 皆推
口味還不錯,不過三百多的雞肉咖哩,只有四塊蠻小且沒太多肉的雞肉,有點讓人失望。
已預約好時間,竟讓客人等40分鐘才來開門😓

Awesome place, the best and most authentic dosa I’ve eaten in Taiwan so far! Highly recommend it. I’ll have to drive from Taichung to Taipei to have it but it’s totally worth it! It’s that good!

The quality of the food of South Indian dishes are good. However samosa and some curry sucks. Few dishes are overpriced. Limited space. Additional tax Should be paid too.

對於收服務費這件事有點疑惑,除了送菜沒看到其他服務,而且外場只有見到一個服務人員,點了三個一樣的餐,上了其中兩個快吃完了,上了一個咖喱,最後一個餐還沒上…
點了幾種菜色,每個口味都略有不同,蠻用心的,煎餅的醬不辣、偏淡好像有點偏甜,不太喜歡,煎餅搭辣的咖哩比較好吃。
香雞燉飯的醬汁是幾個醬汁裡比較喜歡的。
商業午餐的咖喱雞也還可以。
整體偏貴,燉飯280還要加一成服務費。
商業午餐相較其他餐點CP值高但還是貴。
I ordered Bisibelebath and they gave me a proper North Indian Dal Kichdi😂
The quantity was way too less on the first place which is still alright considering that they’re some international quality restaurant. But please don’t fool people giving something else🙂. I’m a South Indian, so I know the difference. The people who don’t know the difference are just being fooled.

看了網評不錯,於是前往。大失所望!
餐廳滿室嗆鼻油味不說。上的菜,圖實不符。Biryani在印度及中東地區不是沒吃過,這樣的水準,真是不行!
大概是搬了新地址,巷內生意自然不好,但也請別用隔夜米及超市囊餅來充數,肉類食材,也就更不好說了。一吃便知不新鮮。再加上價格不便宜。
請千萬別再來踩雷!
隱身在羅斯福路大樓內,路過很難會注意,無意中網路發覺嘗試之後,頗令人驚訝,環境雖然狹長不大,但是乾淨,店家為印度人,食物現作無添加物負擔,入口充滿印度香料,菜單多元很值得多次造訪慢慢品味

Best curry I’ve every had.
I was really looking forward to eating here, but from the go things were less than desirable. Got a very lukewarm response to my inquiries over the phone when I made reservations, and the service at the restaurant was of the same tired, unenthusiastic style ( though the only staff who taking orders, bringing food and accepting payments did the best one person could). We ordered masala dosa, which was soggy and average tasting; Pani poori, which was a total disaster with masala dosa filling for pooris with warm (??) tasteless “paani” which had chopped onion and chillies floating in it! The veg biryani was nothing to write about and the raita was watery and bland. Desserts continued the same sad story- payasam was basically milk base with no flavour and the sooji halwa (see picture), though tasty, had tons of unappealing orange food colouring!
I’m only giving it three stars as it might be good value for money for some people (we paid 350 per person and ordered a masala lassi apart from the above 5 items). I, for one, don’t plan to visit again unless the quality and taste improves substantially.

先說結論偏貴。
咖哩小辣還蠻好吃的。
麥餅150太貴。
檸檬飯裡有加黃豆,煮的濕濕黏黏的。
蔬菜湯就是沒加勾芡的酸辣湯。
奶茶是薑汁奶茶,薑茶的味道真的很重。
南印米布丁就是熱牛奶西米露,堅果、葡萄乾等都沒有加。
滿道地的南印度料理,只是服務人員偏少,有收10%服務費這一點比較有待商榷

食物都蠻好吃的,平常中午餐時間都很多人的,晚上比較適合來,有很多座位。餅類的選擇很多,我點了鮮蝦咖哩微辣以及香氣十足的奶油餅(butter naan?),朋友點的烤雞也好吃,最後老闆還請了我們吃酸奶甜點,濃郁的奶粉味,夠甜味道很足。

要注意不要撲空喔

香料運用得很厲害的店家
My first time visiting, and Amma’s Kitchen moved from their previous location to this larger place (former location of The Local craft beer bar) about a month ago. The interior is decorated with traditional decor, but the lighting has that blue-ish fluorescent bulb feel to it (which I’ve tried my best to edit out in my pictures).
I asked what they would consider their signature dish, and the waitress said the chettinadu (chicken or lamb) and their dosa would be it. So I ordered a chicken chettinadu and a plain dosa to eat with it: bill came to $506NT. (Photos attached.)
The chettinadu was packed with flavour and about 6 mouth-sized pieces of boned chicken in a medium bowl of curry sauce. Pricey at $325NT for Taiwanese standards, but roughly standard for curry in Taiwan. It came with 3 other little bowls of sauces/dips, but I couldn’t tell you what they were (besides delicious). All were not hit-your-tongue spicy, but had the kind of spicy that gets you a bit more with every successive mouthful.
The dosa was probably 30-40cm in diameter, loosely rolled and served unceremoniously on a plate, as they typically are. It was oily-crispy on the outside, but towards the center it was soft (immediately as it was served to me) and mushy. I couldn’t easily rip/break it for single-bite servings. My benchmark (and I’ve had at other Indian restaurants in this city) was crispy and easily tearable or piercable across its entire length, and Amma’s was rather disappointing in comparison.
Would I come back? Maybe, but probably only to see if something else in their menu is worth eating.
I ordered one of chef’s recommended dishes. It was watery and spiced in a very generic way. The steamed rice was also wet and clumpy.
I came here because I was only in the city for a Monday and my favorite Indian restaurant (Flavor of India) is closed on Mondays.
It was not a terrible meal, and I appreciate them not using frozen vegetables, but not worth NT$300.
